Colour Blend

Colour Blend is a mobile application for devices running on the Google Android platform. It identifies the colour of whatever is currently in the camera preview, displaying the colour in words as well as the RGB value. Colour Blend is particularly useful for people who suffer from any form of colour blindness. Colour analysis is fully automatic and does not require any user action.

General tips:

  • Colour Blend works best under well-lit conditions; try to adjust the camera settings if results are not satisfactory.
  • Click on the rotating arrow icon if you wish to activate manual mode.
  • To save an image, press the trackball whilst in manual mode. Make sure you have an SD card inserted.
  • Colour Blend requires Android 2.1 or better. If you can’t find the application in the Android Market, this is probably the reason.
  • Colour Blend works by choosing the closest colour that is present in the current colour scheme. Try experimenting with the different schemes available.
